My condo has gone up at least $100k in value since I bought it just before shit went crazy, but that value is meaningless if I can’t afford to capitalize on it and move anywhere. I feel like I’m basically trapped in this house, since everything else has gone up so much more than my place.
If anything, society collapses and the very wealthy carve out fiefdoms for themselves and re-create medieval feudalism. They tell people they have a God-ordained to rule over the “small folk” and they continue on living like kings, albeit in a post-apocalyptic setting.
The PS5 in general has just felt like a nebulous console. I don’t know if it’s just me not being as connected to console gaming anymore or what, but there’s no PS5 games that are “must play” or anything that I’ve seen/read/heard hype about that has made me really interested. Partly there was the Covid years where it was apparently facing shortages and during that I just switched my mind off to the idea that I’d ever buy one. It’s been out for years now though, but nothing about it makes me care to move on from our PS4 that’s still chugging along.
That was probably the intent. It works as a soft layoff. Do something wildly unpopular, knowing that a bunch of employees will quit. The ones left will pick up the slack, because obviously if they had anywhere else to go they would’ve left with the first group.
I consider myself liberal, but online liberals love to jump to conclusions to find fault and assume the worst in other people’s comments, then accuse them of being one thing or another. It’s like a reflex, it just happens uncontrollably.
“Oh, you like Downton Abby? Obviously you’re down with British colonialism and the oppression of third world countries.” Or “You liked Alien Romulus? Is that because you enjoy nonconsensual penetration and forced pregnancies?” Or whatever the hell the topic at hand is.
It’s like a game of virtue-signaling one-upmanship to show, “Look how much better I am than you. I care about this thing you hadn’t ever considered before.”

Was it parasitic? I used it for playing music off of Youtube and it would let me put the screen to sleep and keep playing the music? Did it get enshittifed or is it just that it provided a way around Youtube Premium? I haven’t actually used it in ages, though it still seems to work, it opened up at least.
Can it just die already? I am so sick and tired of hearing about it and its dumb owner.

That’s literally the only reason I signed up for Instagram, but over half of my feed has become wholesome videos of people doing arts & crafts, woodworking, cooking, animals, inspiring vignettes, graphic design hacks, and bunch of other things. As cool as those other things are, I just wanted to see boobies.
And one of the weirdest things about Instagram, is that nudity is banned UNLESS the woman is breastfeeding (and a few other scenarios). So this seems to have spawned a weird sort of genre of what appears to be breastfeeding porn, women who are posting nude videos of themselves while breastfeeding, specifically to get around the nudity ban. It’s kind of weird and exploitative, I don’t really understand why it’s allowed (except for educational purposes, but these videos don’t seem to meet that bar). It’s like, showing breasts is offensive because kids might be able to see nudity and we don’t want kids seeing nude women… unless we film the nudity with kids in it, then that magically makes it ok.
I am not going to take the time out of my day to inform you of this basic fact.

Maybe radical, maybe not, I don’t know. Instagram has a policy of no nudity, with some exceptions. A notable one is for breastfeeding, which has led to this weird category on Instagram of… I guess it’s Breastfeeding Porn, I don’t know what else to call it (?). It’s bizarre because the videos being made are obviously meant to just show off naked boobs… but with young children in them. So, IMO, it’s dipping its toes into exploitation, but because it’s technically “breastfeeding” it’s perfectly fine with Instagram. It’s this weird situation where, showing your tits in a video by yourself is considered “offensive” or not safe for children… unless you film your tits out with a child in the video. Honestly, they should just allow all nudity via some sort of gatekeeping program or something that tries to keep kids from viewing it, but the breastfeeding exception has just created a weird porn sub-genre.
And I’m sure there’s legitimate reasons why somebody would take a video of themselves breastfeeding, maybe for instructional purposes for other mothers or something, whatever, I’m sure that’s a thing and I’m not knocking that. And I know breastfeeding creates a strong bond between mother and child, it’s a normal, natural thing that happens, I get that, but these videos in particular don’t seem to have any purpose that I can make out. These videos are just women staring at the camera, their tits hanging out and off to the side is some kid greedily suckling on one boob. If this is such a sacred relationship between mother and infant, shouldn’t it be kept private? Sure, women can breastfeed in public because they literally have to feed their child… but broadcasting it to the world doesn’t seem like a necessary part of that.
I’ve worked for companies that would leave it up to chance without a second thought. I’ve known people that worked there and Amazon doesn’t seem like it cares about its employees. Does it make sense? No, but there’s alot about corporate America that’s pretty dumb.
