Jesus, why not fine them 5 bucks?
What a joke.
Jesus, why not fine them 5 bucks?
What a joke.
Nope. I quit their Google bullshit ages ago. Moto 360 was a brutal betrayal.
Get a withings scanwatch or something that is “dumb” enough to be an excellent and nice looking watch, hugely long battery life, and has all the health features that matter.
It looks sharply professional, I charge it once a month, and the updates for it don’t constantly make it run worse to push features in a different part of their product line…
Then cut 4k content entirely. Downgrade to 720p.
Do what must be done. Run the company like it was intended to be financially feasible without some future advertising innovation saving it.
But once the product itself begins to actively repulse me, then I stop checking the website as much. Literally everyone I know right now in my immediate family and friend circle is looking or testing a Google alternative because of these reasons.
When you enshittify the experience too much, no one wants it. I have YT premium, but parents who have YT TV due to poor coverage in their area, they don’t get YT premium. I don’t understand that.
There is a give and take with advertising, you are right. But this is just beyond what I will tolerate. Pause screen ads and ads on my TV home screen are my line. That is my hardware, and that is a service I pay for. Absolutely not.
Sadly, YouTube TV doesn’t include YT Premium.
Which is the weirdest shit imaginable to me.
In any case, adverts on the pause screen should be banned.
The entire advertising industry is long overdue for a massive clapback and course correction, because it has infested every inch of waking life.
I hope someone viciously kills him before it can happen.
Like, to be clear I am not threatening or anything, but no such thing as a trillionaire should exist, and it’s absolutely something that should be punished.
There is no moral way to get there.
You also read page titles horizontally, making it easy to skim tab page titles.
Yes, they should.
Twitter already bans and takes down posts for most other nations, Musk even posted about how they have to to operate.
This is quite literally no different. If you want to operate in a country, love or hate it, you have to agree to their laws for their users. If the EU laws say posting revenge porn, you can’t ignore them and say nuh uh we’re a US company free speech. If Japan has a law saying posting bomb instructions is an instaban, you have follow suit. And in Brazil, 7 accounts, seven were identified by a court as needing to be taken down for spreading misinformation. You can object, but then stop doing it for the other countries as well, because Twitter absolutely must cooperate with the US and EU on these requests or they get massive fines as well. And they do.
Its a stupid act of grandstanding and Elon thought they would blink first, or the fallout wouldn’t be so obvious and massive.
Try harder, you can do better than this.
Nope.
This is why anyone not huffing paint has stayed far away from NFTs.
See, the issue is over time they have carved more and more out of stock AOSP and made it closed.
The AOSP camera is garbage, but it doesn’t have to be. I think the Pixel line could still have done great with Google backporting these Improvments even on a delayed release window. But you have people literally stealing the camera apk and manually patching it to run on other devices because Google won’t do this.

Not to mention the sorry state of stock apps like calculator and calendar, notes, all ignored in favor of a competing google service… Which Google sometimes still ignores (Keep)
I’m happy Google made Pixels, but I think in the switch from Nexus to Pixel, the loser was the AOSP program, which now feels more like a skeleton that requires a full OSS team or corporation to finish it. Too many basic QoL changes are never backported.
I’m mad that
A) Major devs get it early B) Google has cut so many APIs out of it and pushed them into Play Services (Google only, closed) C) So much of the stock Android experience has been completely ignored and neglected now that Google launched the Pixel line. Unlike Nexus, Pixels are filled with “exclusives”, and instead of just being the best place to use android, it keeps features from others.
Oddly, most Japanese arcade games are running on Windows, for ease of portability in their market, which makes PC ports actually extremely straightforward.
Source: I got to use machines when they were doing a reboot and the whole interface loads up for the multi-game cabinets like a emulator frontend that just launches and kills the processes.
I will learn how to make an orbital rocket just to fuck this things day up.
No, night is already too bright. You are not ruining this for me further.
You’d have to be pumping up quite a bit I think to reverse through the residential transformer with just your little generac home unit, but you may be correct if there are no one way circuits or backfeed fuses. Even so, hopefully it wouldn’t kill. Home voltage stepped up would lose its amperage and be like an extremely anemic taser potentially.
I’d love to hear from an electrical worker on the topic, but yea, it’s the amps that kill more than the volts.
Exactly this. It’s so insanely selfish and pretty illegal.
That said, 120v backfeed is unlikely to kill and linemen kind of expect and test for residual current because of accidents like this causing falls, but it doesn’t mean it’s okay, and the chances of hurting someone are still non-zero.
I reset my Android TV to stock before the ads, block all updates, and just run Plex and Netflix when I choose.
Probably going to take it further in the future and just use a little android media stick and nuke the SmartTV is entirely because of how badly it lags.
Absolutely insane how badly AndroidTVs perform after a year or so of ownership. If I could revert the core software updates I would.
Also, wifi causes the entire TV to become a laggy unusable mess. Has to be plugged in over ethernet. Absolutely unbelievable.
Its cool well just message the maintainers of Android to improve it, I’m sure it’s a mistake. Lemme go check who who’s behind it… /s
Do it do it do it do it do it do it…
Smash them with a hammer. Google should not exist as it is. Not for decades.
Break up AdSense, chrome, search, android, shatter them all into separate companies that can stop selling out literally every waking aspect of life as their sole business model.
Chrome is the existential threat to FireFox.
Chrome is… Also Google.
Break up Google, make chrome competitive, and then we’ll stop seeing advertisers own the web standards and implement things like AVIF and ManifestV3, and instead embrace open solutions that favor users.
The JPEG XL vs AVIF thing still makes me mad.
Revisiting this many weeks later: what do you think of the idea of super users who can be delegated an ability to silence/quarantine other posters?
Admin
Moderators
Superuser
User
Maybe if they only had the ability to flag a user and put them in "time out, and it couldn’t stack or be consecutive from one superuser, etc?
I dunno. It might be a good way to help police the content without making people volunteer to be full on mods. And it can be treated as a semi privileged role, that expires are X months and only X number ofnactive users in good standing can have at once?
A little complex to implement, but it might at least let mods crowdsource the task of stemming the worst of things.
