I (American) felt like the Brexit election was a huge catalyst of right wing sentiment across the world. We’re also seeing a big swing in it after the rise of social media in young men’s lives.
You keep saying stupid shit that’s just all over the fucking place. What does being a republic and killing minorities have to do with each other? By your own weird ass definition then this means that Iran is also killing people for no reason other than being… black?
Killing minorities and giving immunity to police officers is more to do with the power imbalance and the role that creates a system of injustices that’s built by design because the founders were white men.
Please stop spouting dumbass non-sense and understand that both countries are run in some major different ways, but that both countries can still have shitty internal and external laws, governance and policy.
Oh, so there’s multiple supreme leaders at one time and they make up a court that delivers a decision? Our Supreme Court is a fucking travesty right now, but it’s not the decree of one person. As is the case with the supreme leader of Iran. I’m not criticizing a lifetime appointment, or a religious zealot. None of my language implied I was against their religion. I’m against one person being a supreme leader. It’s a fairly easy concept.
If you don’t support Iran than you should have an easy time understanding how having a supreme leader who can freely dictate laws is a little different than our fucked up republican (or representative democracy) here in the US. Now, we’re on the verge of having a supreme leader given some new interpretations of the law… but that’s completely different from the current Iranian setup.
Do you consider North Korea a democratic republic because they also say they are?
Compared to the tiger tank it wasn’t super modern and it struggled, but we built so damn many of them that it didn’t matter it wasn’t better, it just surrounded and shot at them. We’re seeing the same philosophy today on the battlefield in Ukraine. We keep pushing for ultra modern weapons, but it’s becoming clear that simple, easy, and devastating proven weapons are still just as good if not better.
I can tell your stupid because you said it has a Republican structure like the US without mentioning the Supreme Leader of Iran… the government of Iran killed a girl and multiple others because they didn’t want to wear head scarves.
I don’t give a shit about Iran, but don’t act like they’re holier than thou.
Outdated technology militarily is proving to be something we in the west need to invest into again. The US and USSR didn’t win against Germany because we had superior technology. We won because we pumped out shitloads of Sherman’s and Jeeps. So many that the USSR was using them for a decade after the iron curtain went up. Now we’re seeing in Ukraine how important 155mm shells and dumb glide bombs from 60 years ago are still just as devastating. So, while Iran might not have our cool tech that makes things like Iron Dome possible, or laser weapon systems. The Shahed drone is so stupidly easy to produce and cheap. It’s insanely destructive by cost. We shouldn’t underestimate a people for being simple with their design when that works incredibly well and is incredibly cheap.
I think I gotta hand it to the Amish on this one. I’ve seen how quickly they can build a barn. Imagine how quickly they could fortify a front. The Mormons just don’t have that capability. Not to mention the Mormon limited selection of hot drinks to drink on the cold bitter front. It would make it far more difficult to fight that war.
Oh I forgot you’re a specialist in city planning, urban development and hospitality.
Cities and countries rely on a variety of sources of income and taxes to sustain a quality of life. Understanding that one is still needed while recognizing we can do more to improve the lives of others isn’t talking out of my ass. It’s common sense knowledge. I live close to the Bay Area and frequent tourist areas because of my line of work and recognize that they get populated by people as seasons fluctuate. It’s frustrating, but that’s part of running a successful city. Keeping a vibrant life for people and enticing them to come visit. If Barcelona is just meant to provide only housing for its citizens it becomes another American style suburb instead of what makes Barcelona a cool attraction and lucrative destination.
What’s crazy to me is how much we in the US are investing into their economy simply because we also hate China. At least Xi seems somewhat apprehensive and reluctant to fully approve of Putin.
I’d rather tank the Indian economy as well. I’m willing to suffer a little here in the US to make sure that any country that does business or builds further relations with Russia has it worse.
Big brain move. The money that’s generated from tourism doesn’t trickle down to the people so instead of going after the rich that control the tourism industry and using unions to lift up their wages they would rather go after the same class of people as them because they’re angry at a system that was designed to make them mad at the tourists rather than those profiting directly from it.
I’m all for demanding more of a cut of the pie, and being upset about the city not building housing meant for the people that live there, but this is just plain wrong.
It’s pronounced Z for “get out of Z car.”
99 is quickly becoming a majorly trafficked freeway as the Central Valley is rapidly growing due to cheap land, well paying jobs and… a new high speed rail being built right alongside 99. It’s literally all the news about California’s “massive waste of money” high speed rail. I’m planning on high speed rail growing the valleys commerce and output due to ease of travel. However 99 is insanely small and has tons of rough patches and cracked roads due to decades of neglect.
126 million is small potatoes in this state. Especially when it’s likely that state, federal, and cities/counties are also kicking in money for this operation. Madera, Merced, Fresno, that whole stretch is growing like crazy right now.
I drive this route regularly (like 2 times a month) and I’ve literally never noticed the two trees. A cool rest stop visible one with an actual plaque to learn a bit about the location would be way more useful instead of a median tree that we’re supposed to understand while passing at 80mph.
Lenovo is at the top of the enterprise devices game right now. I always say they operate in cycles and usually each brand trades every 2 years who is at number one.
I still will always shit on HP. And HPE Aruba switches are absolutely trash.

Correct, but you use imperial units for home building. Which I imagine is annoying and confusing.
They are different standards, 100%! I hate that MPG in both English speaking countries means two different things. It’s like how Americas horsepower number is different than Britains. I feel bad for Canada too who’s caught between British units and American Units, and that’s before being dragged into the metric vs imperial. It’s unfortunate.
The diesel HD trucks can average nearly 20mpg, and the diesel half tons can get almost 30. The gas trucks will get 10-17mpg with good highway tires. Off road tires bring it down to 8-15.
I’m completely in agreement that the people bitching about fuel prices are often the ones driving something like this. My truck is an HD gasser and I pay 4.50 a gallon right now. Sure it sucks, but I have a need for a truck. Other guys just drive them to an office job where a smaller fun car could easily get the job done. In a surprising twist though of just efficiency and aero dynamics my twin turbo V8 sports sedan will pull almost 28mpg on the freeway. Both are not hybrid.
I have definitely said though that I wish there was a hybrid gas HD truck. It makes perfect sense. If I need to run a welder or other high power usage tool I would love to have that capability, while still being able to tow 17k pounds no problem and carry 6 people comfortably. They have already proven it works with the F150 power boost, and that gets almost 28mpg freeway.
I drive a Ram 2500… so I have like the worst LED lights for other people. What I don’t get is why they don’t automatically dim as I slow down. It’s now like your headlights are needed to see as far down the road when I’m doing 0mph. Just keep them at the minimum and increase brightness as I drive, and if it detects another car in front of me just reduce light output while drive to -10% from normal.
