Not disagreeing with you, but Norway is the way it is because it sells oil and it has been enough revenue over the years to provide for it’s citizens. Many countries can’t follow this model.

Maybe it’s my client? Can you downvote me?
Why the fuck can’t we downvote in lemmy anymore is the real question?
Well at least they have downvotes 😂
I live in a city with elevations and I’m hard pressed to find any MPVs on the road. I see MPV (vans) broken down on the side of the road because they lack the horsepower to go up and down the highway every day. I don’t have an issue with MPVs and wish most short haul businesses used them instead of pick-up trucks, but they just don’t offer the same benefits as an SUV.
I own an SUV (clearly), it gets good mileage (27-34), I travel across the country in it, and I can’t tell you how many times it has been useful on the pavement having that extra power and height for safety reasons. Is the hate on SUVs how big they are? Is it because it’s considered a symbol of status? MPVs are not better mileage wise, unless you are comparing a new MPV to an older 2001 SUV. Hell, Jeeps have the worst MPG and no one is complaining about them.
Why don’t you think an SUV has utility?
I think this is just another news cycle to pit normal citizens against each other to blame for current crisises. Given the utility of an SUV, I assume the difference is marginal.
Affirm is a big one. Bloomberg spent the past few weeks talking with the Affirm CEO.
🤔. If he was driving towards the wall, there would be a larger hole starting from where the top of the gun barrel is. To get such a small hole in the wall as shown in the picture, the driver would have to intentionally articulate the barrels so it enters through the wall at the same position. This doesn’t seem likely though, given the angle and position of the gun.
Does this work well with X11 -> Wayland communication? Or do both computers need to be Wayland?
This article is talking about Colombia, so I thought you were comparing Norway to Colombia. It would be interesting to see the Nordic model applied to the US. There are 370m Americans vs 5m Norwegians but our government budget per capita could theoretically be closer

Norway has a budget of $36k to spend per citizen and the US $20k. Say we raised our possible budget to $36k I wonder what impact that would make. $16k x 370m Americana would be ~$6b dollars. Looks like annual spend on US Medicare is $808b, so we couldn’t even offer free healthcare. It seems like the US would need to be ground up rebuilt.
