I saw someone dip a chip in a tea cup at a bistro last week. The fact that I never found out what was in the tea cup haunts me.

Think about dairy what you will, but ‘I didn’t do it, I paid someone else to do it’ is never a very solid argument in a debate on ethics.
Im sorry, but what kind of mammal biology are you talking about that says that two different types of milk come from the same animal?
Also, milk production usually does go down somewhat over time and sometimes even does cease, and it’s different for every individual, which makes it less predictable and less profitable to just impregnate a cow once. This is why dairy farmers almost always try to impregnate their cows yearly. Here’s one source, there’s plenty more coming up if you look it up on a search engine though https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/farm/dairy/farming
Im from the same country as you. I would also try to transition legally as fast as possible, it’s hard enough as it is (for me as an nb it’s not even possible). But I have slight hope the far right extremists that won the EU election won’t win the national elections. Why? A lot of people in our country disagree with the EU and what it does. It makes sense, as a small country, policies will often override our best interests. Think transit traffic for example. Or regulating german language product names to something that only Germans would call the products (I know that’s not a huge issue but people care about this sort of stuff). And for that reason, I think it may just be possible that many voted for the most anti EU party possible. I still expect the conservatives to win, which won’t exactly be a win for human and queer rights either, but not quite as scary.
Even if you cant be bothered to figure out gaming on Linux, a dual boot works like a charm. I do all my gaming on the windows partition to keep it separate from work, to avoid distraction.
Didn’t mean to lie. I thought it followed from context (I see now it didn’t) that I mean that most people do not care about the killing of different animals as much.
I was trying to open a discussion and maybe get a person or two to get to question some things. Don’t think that’s a good reason to be mean. And fwiw I still don’t understand WHY a person cares more about a dog than a pig.
Oh hi mum, didn’t know you were on lemmy
You think that farm cattle exist as a wild animal?
Yet there’s no posts in my news feed about how they’re being fished, let alone comments from people upset about it. Maybe we should care more about all animals?
Man Id like to say some things in response of youd have acted like you’re open for a normal adult discussion, but I just can’t deal with this level of condescension. Please be nicer to people who did nothing to hurt you
I chatted to someone on the train once who told me she got addicted to the habit of drinking water and was hospitalized for a month or so because she basically flushed out all of her electrolytes and was deficient in everything. She said she was at 5-6L though.
Yet most don’t. Good on you if you do though.
Octopuses are much smarter and people eat those too.
Edit: can I just correct myself. I now think we shouldn’t use perceived intelligence as a measure of how much ethical consideration someone or something deserves, that gets reeeeally gross really fast
Not talking about the artificially created species, that’s a separate issue. More things like overfishing. And hunting of other species that are endangered but not as cute and lovable.
Can someone explain why people care more about this than the killing of other animals?
It’s being someone’s ONLY person that sounds exhausting to me. What if they need support and I’m out of energy? Or vice versa? Rather distribute it between about three people.
